A class of Birmingham school children has helped to create the city's latest tourist souvenir and educational aid -thanks to work they have done to discover more about where they live.

Globees are beautifully illustrated maps of cities that depict all the major streets, landmarks and historic buildings.

Teachers Helen Hackett and David Williams came up with the idea as a history and geography project for their class of 9 and 10 year olds at Parkfield Community School in Saltley after meeting David Sinclair of Globee at the NEC’s Education Show last March.

Forty locations will feature on the Globee as chosen by the children during three months of research on the city.

Priced from £15, the globees will be available on the high street and virtual shop shelves in the next few months making it a great souvenir for those holidaying in the city in the summer. Find out about all the attractions and events which are being included on the new Birmingham Globee at www.globee.co.uk.
